    EXPERIENCE NIAGARA PARKS IN BLOOM

    Celebrate the arrival of spring and delight in the sights, sounds and aromas of Niagara Parks this weekend. Enjoy the stunning magnolias and flowering Japanese cherry trees throughout the Park, before making your way to lunch at one of Niagara Parks’ certified restaurants. Niagara Parks truly has something for everyone on this special weekend

    8:30 AM: Our 1st Pick-up location is Scarborough Town Centre (Please arrive 15 Min before the departure)

    9:00 AM: Our 2nd Pick-up location is York Mills Station
    9:30 AM: Our 3rd pick-up location is: Mississauga. See below details for pick-ups/parking*

    Visit the amazing gardens and Spring Blossoms along Niagara River: Springtime in Niagara brings millions of tulips, everywhere you look you’ll see the brightly coloured flowers. You can’t help smelling spring at the Centennial Lilac Garden, downriver near the Lewiston-Queenston International Bridge. It’s a-bloom with more than 1,200 aromatic lilac bushes.
     
    11:00 – 11:30 AM: Revel in nature's most beautiful creations and discover the art of horticulture at Niagara Parks' Botanical Gardens 
    11:30 AM to 1:00 PM: Walk along the Niagara Recreation Trail and enjoy the amazing spring blossoms on our way (led by Niagara Parks Local Guide). This is a 4-kilometre trail that’s rated as moderate, and primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and bird watching and is accessible year-round. During your walk, you will be visiting the following amazing places:
    • * Sir Adam Beck Power Generating Station Lookouts
    • * Niagara Floral Clock
    • * Centennial Lilac Garden
    • * Brock's Monument at Queenston Heights Park
    • * End the walking tour at Queenston Heights Restaurant
    1:00 PM – 2:30 PM: Enjoy a Brunch Buffet at Queenston Heights Restaurant.
    2.30 PM: Drive towards Niagara Falls through the scenic “Niagara Parkway”.  
    3:00 – 6:00 PM: You will have 3 hours of free time in Niagara Falls and you have 2 options: You can enjoy your free time to explore the beautiful attractions of Niagara Falls on your own //OR// you can join your tour guide to see some of the attractions (on foot).

    • Walk along the Niagara Parkway from the Table Rock Welcome Centre, perched directly above the Horseshoe Falls to Bridal Veil Falls and American Falls

    NIAGARA FALLS - Optional Activities (with admission fee)

    Cancellations & Refunds
    • * Full refund if you cancel at least 30 days before the trip departure date.
    • * 29-15 days prior to departure - pay a penalty equal to 50% of the total purchase amount.
    • * 14-8 days prior to departure - pay a penalty equal to 70% of the total purchase amount.
    • * Within 7 days of departure - fully non-refundable - pay a penalty equal to 100% of the total purchase amount.
    • * In the event that a tour is canceled, the liability of FunTours.ca will be limited to providing a full refund of the original trip price. 

    Pickup

    PICK-UP Locations  

    1st pick-up location: Scarborough Town Centre - The address is (300 Borough Dr, Scarborough, ON M1P 4P5). The bus stops directly outside the Cineplex movie theatres at the Scarborough Town Centre. This pickup location is suitable for day trips. IF YOU NEED TO PARK YOUR CAR: Park anywhere near the movie theatres. Free parking all day. Cars cannot be left overnight after 2 AM.

    2nd pick-up location:  York Mills Station. - The bus will stop on Yonge St., right at (4025 Yonge St North York, ON M2P 2E3). This is the York Mills Centre office building on the North-East corner of Yonge St. & York Mills Rd. The York Mills subway station is in the basement of this building. If it is raining or snowing, you are welcome to wait in the lobby of the office tower until you see the bus stop in front of the building. TO PARK YOUR CAR: Only for day trips, you can park your car in a parking lot located at 3885 Yonge St, Toronto. This is about a 5-minute walk from the pick-up location. This is a pay-and-display parking lot. Covered parking is also available for day trips only in the parking garage at the York Mills Centre at 4025 Yonge St. The parking cost is $20 per day (2020 rates).  Click here to see on map

    3rd pick-up location: Mississauga - The address of the plaza is (30 Courtneypark Dr E Mississauga, ON L5T 2Y3). The bus will stop outside the plaza, right in front of the McDonalds- on Hurontario. You can wait in the Mcdonald's until the bus arrives. The bus will be visible through the restaurant windows. Cars can be parked for the day in the plaza parking lot. Parking is free.

    NOTE about "How to get to York Mills Station" and TTC SUBWAY Operation
    * The subway will open @ 6.00 AM on Saturdays and 8.00 AM on Sundays. Therefore, you will have the following options for getting to York Mills Station:
    1) If you bring your own car, the parking lot is right in front of York Mills Station, and the Parking fee is approx. The parking cost is $20 per day (2020 rates)
    2) UBER: to get an uber, enter this address as your destination: York Mills Centre 4025 Yonge St, North York, ON M2P 2E3.
    3) you can use the TTC blue night bus. You should google it to see the timing/schedules. We have the following links:

    Tour Attractions

    Niagara Parks' Botanical Gardens
    Niagara Parks' Botanical Gardens is located on the scenic Niagara Parkway and the Great Gorge. Established in 1936, you'll enjoy 40 hectares (99 acres) of beautifully maintained gardens with stunning colorful springtime flowers. You’ll understand the expression,”it’s like a breath of spring air” when you visit the gardens.


    Niagara River Recreation Trail
    (from the Botanical Gardens to the Centennial Lilac Garden) and enjoy the amazing spring blossoms on our way. This is a 3-kilometer trail that’s rated as moderate, and primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and bird watching and is accessible year-round.  


    CANADIAN NIAGARA POWER GENERATING STATION
    First powerhouse to produce hydroelectric power for transmission and sale outside of Niagara Falls, Canada Niagara Parks is home to two active power generating stations owned and operated by Ontario Power Generation (OPG).
    SIR ADAM BECK GENERATING STATIONS 1 AND 2
    Located in Queenston, Sir Adam Beck 1 built in 1917 and Sir Adam Beck 2 built in 1950.
    As per the Niagara River Water Diversion Treaty, water that is diverted for hydroelectric power generating purposes is shared equally between Canada and the United States.

     
    Niagara Floral Clock
    This unique attraction is a very popular stop on the Niagara Parkway and is photographed almost as often as the Falls! The planted face is maintained by Niagara Parks horticulture staff, while the mechanism is kept in working order by Ontario Hydro, the organization that originally built the clock in 1950. The intricate designs on the face of the timepiece are created with up to 16,000 carpet bedding plants. The floral design is changed twice each year, featuring viola in the Spring and four cultivars of Alternanthera along with green and grey forms of Santolina Sage during the Summer and Fall. California Golden Privet and Blue Festuca Grass may be used for contrast. The Floral Clock is 40 feet wide, with a planted area 38 feet wide, making it one of the largest such clocks in the world. Each year, the face of the clock is filled with 15,000 to 20,000 carpet plants and colourful annuals, planted in unique, intricate designs. This floral showpiece has become one of the most photographed attractions in Niagara Parks.


    Centennial Lilac Garden
    This is a special visit to Niagara Parks to experience our fragrant Lilac Garden. Located on a ten-acre area just to the north side of the Floral Clock, this collection contains over 1,200 plants with over 200 different varieties. Come out at this special time of year to experience the whole range of colors and gorgeous fragrances. Created in 1967 to commemorate Canada's Centennial Year, the American Rotary Clubs of District 709 contributed funds towards the development of this unique garden

    Queenston Heights
    Nestled high atop the Niagara Escarpment, Queenston Heights Park combines leisure and history in one scenic location. At the entrance to this historic park, visitors are greeted by grand carpet bedding displays that surround both the Brock and Laura Secord Monuments. Facilities include two picnic pavilions, washrooms, a children’s splash pad, tennis courts, a band shell, snack bar, playground and seasonal fine dining at Queenston Heights Restaurant.
     
    BROCK'S MONUMENT
    Brock's Monument is owned by Parks Canada and is located in Queenston Heights Park, which is maintained year-round by Niagara Parks. The monument is open for an interpretive programme daily from May until Labour Day weekend.  
     
    Queenston Heights Restaurant
    A spectacular brunch prepared by Niagara Parks’ talented culinary team. Celebrate the unique tastes and culinary profile of the Niagara region, while enjoying stunning views, garden settings and fantastic service. Each of Niagara Parks’ #FeastON certified restaurants are strong supporters of our local economy, featuring Ontario farm-fresh produce and products and a selection of outstanding local wine, beer and spirits.

     
    Floral Showhouse
    While collections of orchids, succulents and other tropical plant species are on display throughout the year, visit from May 3 to June 3 for their especially ‘Springy’ Annual Hydrangea Show. The annual Hydrangea display features stunning floral spheres bursting with magnificent colours of blue, purple, pink and white throughout the warm, tropical setting. Plus, don’t miss the spectacular gardens surrounding the Floral Showhouse, including the instrammable Magnolia Alley – the pink tree framed walkway that leads to the Showhouse building.
    Admission: $7.00 + Tax for Adults (13+) $4 + Tax for Children (6 to 12)


    Table Rock Welcome Centre
    Table Rock Welcome Centre is the heart of Niagara Parks - where every year millions of visitors stand close to the thundering water rushing over the brink of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls! The Table Rock Welcome Centre is a retail and observation complex located right at the Falls.


    Queen Victoria Park
    Bounded by the steep Fallsview moraine and the Niagara River Great Gorge, the Park contains a valuable collection of unique native and international plants and beautifully maintained gardens. In Spring, over 500,000 daffodils start the season in their bright and welcoming way. Magnificent magnolia trees, breathtaking tulips and other blooms are all there for you to enjoy. Walking through the Park beside the Falls, from Clifton Hill to beyond Dufferin Islands, you can enjoy a rock garden, hanging baskets, a Hybrid tea rose garden and attractive carpet-bedding displays. Park benches and well-groomed lawns provide pleasant venues for relaxation and photography.

    Reasonable Level of Fitness: In order to get the most from your travels and keep up with the group, a reasonable level of fitness is required. You will need to be able to walk for 1-2 hours at an Easy to Medium-pace (on an even/uneven surface), get on and off coaches, trains and boats unassisted. Therefore, we ask that anyone wanting to travel with us carefully consider whether any PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS prevent you from fully enjoying our trips.

Our tours are packed with adventure, new experiences, and feel-good moments. However, despite the very best intentions and planning, things can and do go wrong and occasionally we encounter problems beyond our control, such as adverse weather conditions, and unexpected delays caused by traffic jams. In such situations, we ask for your patience and we will endeavor to keep as close to our scheduled itinerary as possible.
    Traveling with children: Due to the activity level of our group tours, all children require adult supervision. Some of our more active excursions may not be suitable for children under the age of 8.
